The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has announced the
agenda of its annual fall meeting, which will take place from November
14 to 16 in Baltimore.
The bishops will vote on a strategic plan for 2017-20, which will
seek to further the conference’s current leading priorities:
evangelization, family and marriage, human life and dignity, vocations
and ongoing formation, and religious freedom.
The bishops will also hear a report from the USCCB Task Force to
Promote Peace in Our Communities and elect a new president, vice
president, and five committee chairmen.
Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, the
conference’s current vice president, is the leading candidate to succeed
Archbishop Joseph Kurtz as president.
