The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, in communion with all the Churches
of the Holy Land, expressed firm condemnation for the act of vandalism
perpetrated against the Christian cemetery of Kfar Yassif, the town in
Galilee situated 11 kilometers to the north east of Acre, where on
Thursday, December 1 blasphemous and obscene graffiti in Arabic were
discovered and written on the walls of the cemetery and the headstones
of several graves.
In a statement released through its official media,
the Latin Patriarchate expresses its closeness and solidarity to the
families of the deceased buried in the desecrated cemetery, and calls
for the police to investigate as soon as possible in order to identify
the authors of these acts of vandalism.
